A short-sleeve crew neck in mercerized cotton. Mercerizing is a finishing bath that swells the cotton fibre until it lies straight and round instead of flat and twisted — the yarn comes out smoother, stronger, and with a quiet sheen closer to silk than to a standard jersey. It also takes dye far more deeply, which is why the black stays black. Clean ribbed collar, straight body, no logo anywhere. White, Black and Beige.
Mercerized cotton jersey with a smooth face and a soft hand. Ribbed crew collar. Set-in short sleeves with a clean double-needle hem. Straight-cut body with a slight taper, meant to be worn tucked or loose. No branding, no chest print, no visible labels on the outside. Sizes M through 5XL.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, inside out, with like colours. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry — the sheen is a finish on the fibre, and high heat is what dulls it. Lay flat or hang to dry in the shade. Iron on low if you need to, on the reverse. Treated this way the shine and the colour will still be there after a year.

The plain tee is the hard one
Anything with a print on it can hide behind the print. A plain tee has nowhere to hide — all that is left is the cotton, the collar and the cut, and you can tell within one wash which corners were cut.
Mercerizing costs more and takes an extra step, and the only thing it buys you is how the shirt looks and feels. That seemed like the right place to spend it.

The fit
Straight through the chest and waist — close without clinging. Important: these are Asian sizes and run about one size smaller than EU/US. Measure a tee you already own flat and match it to the chart instead of ordering your usual size.

Before you order
The two that matter most are sizing and washing. Read those.
Not your usual one. These are Asian sizes and run roughly a size smaller than EU/US — if you normally wear a European L, look at XL here. The reliable method: lay a t-shirt you already like flat, measure it armpit to armpit, double that number, and find the closest chest measurement in the chart.
Less than a standard cotton tee. Mercerized yarn is denser and lies flatter, so the knit is tighter. In direct sunlight you'll still get some translucency — that's true of any lightweight white cotton.
Not if you keep it out of the dryer. The sheen comes from the shape of the fibre itself, not a surface coating, so washing won't strip it — but high heat will flatten the fibre and dull it. Cold wash, hang dry, and it stays.
Mercerized cotton is more dimensionally stable than untreated cotton, so shrinkage is minimal on a cold wash. Hot water and a tumble dryer will still shrink it, as they would any cotton tee.
Straight through the chest and waist, close but not tight. If you want it relaxed or you plan to wear it untucked over wide trousers, take one size up from what the chart gives you.
